Busy weekend for local high school basketball

There will be a lot of local high school basketball today and Saturday:

• Gonzales boys: The Apaches play games both days, hosting Eagle Pass tonight at 5:30 p.m. and then hosting Bandera Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

• Gonzales girls: The Lady Apaches game today against Kenedy was cancelled due to Kenedy being in a COIVD-19 shutdown. The team travels to Sealy for a game Monday.

• Nixon-Smiley boys: The Mustangs are off until Tuesday, when they play at Sacred Heart.

• Nixon-Smiley girls: The Lady Mustangs host San Antonio Fox Tech tonight at 6 p.m. and then Yorktown for a 12:30 p.m. game on Saturday.

• Waelder boys: The Wildcats host Yoakum for a 5 p.m. game today, and then travel to Flatonia Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.

• Waelder girls: The Lady Wildcats are off until the travel to Moulton on Tuesday.
