Cardinals track teams win regional meet

The trophy case is going to need more room at Shiner St. Paul as both the boys and girls track and field teams won the TAPPS 2A South Regional meet.

A total of 16 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 10 bronze medals at the meet.

The Lady Cardinals took first with 224 points, beating out Bryan St. Joseph who scored 122.5 points. The boys team scored 221 points, outscoring Bryan St. Joseph who had 112 points.

On the girls’ side, top three athletes include Brooke Pesek, Rebecca Wagner, Julianna Davivs, Paige Brown, Grace Irvin, Riley Johnson, Sadie Mikes, Hope Kapavik, Mallory Pokluda, Lauren Kubenka and Jane Twyford.
