Charles David Jones

Charles David Jones, 86, of Gonzales, passed away Nov. 8, 2020. David, as he was popularly known, was born Nov. 22, 1933 in Dallas to Joseph Walthall Jones and Willie Bell Johnson Jones. David enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1960 as an Electricians Mate 2nd Class.

He married Joyce Irene Roznovsky on Feb. 9, 1957. They enjoyed 31 years of life together before Joyce passed away. Five years after his first love, David married Louise Blissett MacAllister on April 16, 1995 and enjoyed 24 years together before Joyce passed away.

David was a lifetime member of the Gonzales VFW Post #4817, the Farm Bureau and American Legion.

David worked 44 years in the Maintenance Department for Holly Farms, which later became Tyson Feed Mill. He retired in 2004 but asked to come back in 2005 and David finally retired in November of 2010.

David is survived by his loving family, daughter and son-law: Linda and Elroy Kloesel of Shiner; sister: June Arlene Jones of Saginaw; grandchildren: Joseph Kloesel “Monica,” Dianne Garza “Paul,” Kelly Whiddon “Tot,” Brian Kloesel “Jordan,” and Timothy Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Joyce Iren Roznovsky Jones second wife: Louise Blissett MacAllister Jones; his parents; brothers: Billy Joe Jones, Bobby Jones; and his son: Charles David Jones, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 in Gonzales Memorial Park with Pastor Ildiko Rigney officiating. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Gonzales VFW Post 4817, 302 Harwood Rd, Gonzales, TX 78629.

Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, and graveside burial rite. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home 906 St. Paul Gonzales, Texas 78629.
