Clara Francis McGlothine McKinney

Clara Francis McGlothine McKinney, 72, completed her journey on earth Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021. She was born Aug. 12, 1948 in Pearless, TX to Walter and Aline (Hefaton) Booth.

Clara was a hard worker her whole life, having worked as a chicken farmer to a babysitter. She was generous, kind, stern but loving sweet person known to many as “Granny.” She loved cooking for others, especially her tasty fried chicken and pecan pies. She was a Baptist and even though she had many health issues, her strong faith carried her through.

Survivors are her son Michael (Delila) McGlothine of Nixon and daughter Karen (Curtis) Bennetsen of Yoakum; four grandchildren, Amanda, Michael Jr., Phil Anthony and Matthew McGlothine; great-granddaughter, Aliyah McGlothine; sisters, Mary (David) Talley and Melba Nephew both of Sulfur Springs, TX.

Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Phil Lloyd McGlothine and second husband, James McKinney; infant twin sons; granddaughter, Amber Marie Bennetsen; brother, Olen Booth.

Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home.

Graveside Funeral Service 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at Smiley Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers are James Shows, James Shows Jr., Dennis McGlothine, Shawn McGlothine, Danny McGlothine, Michael McGlothine Jr., Phil McGlothine and Matthew McGlothine.

Honorary Pallbearers are Curtis Bennetsen, Cody Shows, Ryan McGlothine, Nick Bennetsen and Keene Bennetsen.

Memorials may be given American Diabetes Association.
