Conception Camarillo (Chon “CC”) passed from this life into eternal life on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the age of 75. Chon was born Dec. 8, 1944 in Gonzales, Texas. He attended Gonzales High School where he graduated in 1964 and married the love of his life, Concepcion (Connie) Rodriguez on Jan. 6, 1968. They had two children Anna Ruddock and Gabriel Camarillo.

He worked as a commercial truck driver for 52 years for various commercial transportation companies. Chon, “CC” was a lifetime Gonzales resident with numerous family ties and multiple hobbies that included playing softball, shooting billiards, playing dominoes, drinking coffee with his buddies, chancing his luck on slots and scratch off tickets, yard work and carpentry, mechanical work, and anything that would keep him entertained outside of the house.

Chon, “CC” will be fondly remembered by friends and family for his humor, nicknaming nieces/nephews, grandchildren and other family members, sitting under his favorite tree watching the cars go by and waving at any and everybody, dressing up for Halloween using any props in sight, making up his own slang sayings, and for his famous cooking.

His family knew him as a devoted Catholic and a loving, caring, compassionate family man who adored not only his immediate family, but everyone that was around. He also greeted everyone with a big smile and made everyone feel welcomed.

He was a proud grandfather of Gabrielle Camarillo, Ceara Swanson, Krislynn Ruddock, Brittany Camarillo, Gabriel “Angel” Camarillo, Isabel Martinez and Christian Camarillo. Also a great-grandfather to Michael Castillo Jr., MaCaiden Castillo, Natalie Segura, Elleyna Hawes, Bryceton Hawes and Avery Rickman.

He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Susana Camarillo, and two brothers Jesse and David Camarillo.
