County-focused virtual job fair April 22

Posted

The Gonzales Economic Development Corporation and Golden Crescent Workforce Solutions will host a Virtual Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 22.

The fair will connect recruiters representing local organizations with interested and qualified candidates from Gonzales County, as well as people across Texas who may be interested in moving to Gonzales.

The online platform will provide employers and job seekers to chat in real-time as part of the screening process. An “Interactive Hiring Room” will allow recruiters to text chat and use the internal video chat to invite candidates to a live real time interview. Job seekers will be able to send/receive messages from any booth in the event.

In preparation for the virtual event, job seekers are encouraged to do the following:

  • Have an updated resume prepared and ready to submit
  • Be “camera ready” with professional attire should an employer request a meeting
  • Test technology prior to the event
  • Prepare professional and honest responses to common interview questions, such “Why are you

interested in this position?“, “What is your work history?” and “How do you handle challenging

situations?”

  • Prepare questions for the recruiter, such as “What does a typical day in this position look like?,”

“What is the schedule?,” “What skills do I need?” and “Do you offer training?”
