The number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 824 with the addition of 10 newly reported cases on Wednesday. However, the number of active cases fell from 17 to 10.

It is presumed that some of these newly reported cases were deemed “recovered” at the same time they were reported, given the fall in active case counts.

Of the total 824 cases reported in Gonzales County, 806 have been determined to be recovered, with a total of eight deaths reported in the county according to the daily report from County Judge Patrick C. Davis. Data from the Department of State Health Services, however, shows there have been 11 deaths reported in the county as a result of COVID-19.

The number of occupied general and ICU beds in Trauma Service Region P, which includes Gonzales County, has also increased to 4,150, a single day increase of 154 occupied beds. Of these, 25 were ICU beds.

Statewide, COVID-19 is continuing to decrease in spread. On Wednesday, 5,045 new cases of COVID-19 were reported. There are now 19.95 new cases of coronavirus in Texas for every 1000 people.
