County reports 18 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, Monday

Gonzales County reported a combined 18 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Friday and Monday.

Daily reports from Gonzales County Judge Patrick C. Davis show that the county now has a total of 740 cases in the county, with 39 being active, 693 recovered, and a total of eight deaths reported.

In Trauma Service Area P, which encompasses Gonzales as well as much of south central and western Texas, has shown a fall in the number of hospitalizations in the region, with only 676 being recorded on Monday, August 17. Of these, 396 are general beds and 269 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Across the state, a downward trend in the number of reported cases of coronavirus continues, with only 2,713 being reported Aug. 17. Fatalities are also experiencing a downward trend, which is subject to change as new death certificates are received by the state.
