Crystal Dawn Campos (Davis), 40, of San Antonio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 03, 2025. She was born on November 06, 1984, at DeTar Hospital in Victoria, Texas, to Sandra Gail Hrbacek and Kenneth Edward Davis.
Crystal grew up in Thompsonville and was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist church. She attended school in Gonzales graduating from Gonzales High School on May 30, 2003. Shortly after high school, she attended the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants and graduated as a dental assistant on August 26, 2005. She worked as a dental assistant for 20 years in the San Antonio area. In her mid-twenties she was diagnosed with breast cancer and successfully completed treatment and came out as a survivor. She was a loving mother to her two wonderful children, Tyler and Ryleigh, who meant the absolute world to her.
Crystal loved crafting. She did glass work making wind chimes out of wine bottles, collected rocks and painted them, and loved scrapbooking. She loved animals and had a way with them, from her cats and dogs to her horses on the family farm. Her two horses, Crystal and Moses, brought many fond memories to her. During her younger days, she raised show-winning rabbits at the local livestock show. In 1996 she placed as grand champion and in 1997 she placed as grand champion reserve. She loved building campfires at the family farm and making smores with her kids. A cherished activity when coming home to visit was fishing in the stock pond. Ryleigh mentioned that one time when they were fishing, she watched her mom go against a rowdy bull and swatted him off with the stock of a rifle she took with her, a rifle without any bullets in it. She was as tough as they come. Crystal loved listening to music, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Reba McEntire were some of her favorites. She had a life full of adventure. She enjoyed going to the river in Luling with her kids and spending time on the Davis family farm in Thompsonville. Going to the beach was a favorite activity, often visiting Port Aransas, Padre Island, and Galveston to spend time with her family. She had a heart of gold, and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
