Dora Linda (Cano) Peña

On December 2, 2022, the Peña family lost their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Dora Linda (Cano) Peña at 71 years of age. Dora was born in San Antonio, Texas to Hilario Ramos Cano and Teodora (De Leon) Cano. Dora married her sweetheart, San Juan Francisco Peña Sr. in Nixon, Texas on July 8, 1977. They were married 44 wonderful years before his sudden and devastating passing in 2021. Preceding her in death along with her husband are her parents, and her brother Alex Cano Sr.

Dora will be dearly missed by her children, San Juan “Johnny” F. Peña Jr. and wife Tina, Joseph Russell Peña and wife Nadia, San Juan Peña III, and Desiree Michele Peña; grandchildren, Valen Leija, Cruz Leija, Destiny Peña, Mathayus Peña, Chloe Peña, and Ian Peña; great-grandchildren, Joseph Lee Peña, Jacob Rosales, and Aria Rosales; brothers, Larry Cano Jr., and Charlie Cano; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

Visitation and Rosary will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with the Rosary service starting at 6:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon. Interment will follow at Leesville Latin American Cemetery. Father Kuriakose Ouseph will officiate the services.
