Edna May Vogt Hull

Edna May Hull passed away Friday, March 11, 2022.  She was born on October 12, 1926 to Emil Otto Vogt and Tereiza Breitschopf Vogt in Komensky, Texas.  She married Elza Ray Hull on October 15, 1946.

A women of strong German ethics, she was never ashamed of her heritage or her faith in God.  Her favorite scripture was Matthew 25:34, “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” She was baptized in the Primitive Baptist Church.   

She worked in retail as the manager of Bills Dollar Store and Shoe World and finished her career as a sales clerk for Mohrmann’s Drug store.  She loved reading and history. She enjoyed her trips through the south and loved entertaining family and friends in her home, but most of all she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who referred to her as Buttercup or Mamaw.

She is survived by her daughters, Cherrise Dawn Wiley, Candace Raye Tucker (Jack). and daughter-in-law Martha Hull.  Grandchildren; Blake and Shanna Wiley, Sequoya and Shawn Janacek, and Heather and Caleb Boscamp.  Great-Grandchildren; Coy and Cooper Wiley, Adysen and Shelby Janacek, and Caleigh and Coda Boscamp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Hull, son, Cornel Clay Hull, sisters, Evelyn Boethel, Emma Janasky, Beatrice Vahilik, Flora Bauer, and a brother, Lee Vogt.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Terry Eska and The Heights of Gonzales for the special care of their loved one.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Monday, March 14, 2022 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held at 2 pm in Gonzales Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Blake and Shanna Wiley, Sequoya and Shawn Janacek, and Heather and Caleb Boscamp.  Honorary pallbearers: Coy and Cooper Wiley, Adysen and Shelby Janacek, and Caleigh and Coda Boscamp.  Memorials may be made to the Grace Primitive Baptist Church in Lockhart of the charity of one’s choice.  Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com.
