Edythe Frost Rippy

Edythe Frost Rippy, 91, of Gonzales, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Edythe was born on a farm to Jim and Myrtle Frost in the tiny town of Weinert, Texas on February 10, 1932, as the 8^th of 9 children. Edythe was a Christian, having been baptized at the First Baptist Church of Munday, Texas. Edythe was a very talented and beautiful singer and loved music.  She attended Decatur Baptist College and Howard Payne University, both on voice scholarships until she met and married Thomas Homer Rippy in 1952 and they had six children.  Edythe loved gardening and was an avid reader, having read thousands of books in her lifetime.

Edythe was preceded in death by her parents, all her brothers and sisters, her husband, Tom, and her daughter, Vicki Rippy.  

Surviving are her children: Jan Haase (Dale) of Burr Ridge, IL; Mark Rippy (Brenda Raatz) of Aurora, IL; John Rippy of Henderson, NV; Melanie Hull (Donald) of Gonzales, TX, and Valerie Curbo of Dawsonville, GA.  She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Memorial Baptist Church, 1330 N. College Street, Gonzales, Texas.
