Obituary for Emma Cowey Pierpont

Posted

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved Granny, Emma “Joyce” Cowey Pierpont, who went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 20, 1939, to Teby and Emma Cowey. She married Ollin Pierpont on March 1, 1958, and together they shared almost 60 years of marriage. Joyce lived a life overflowing with kindness, faith, and devotion. She was the heart of our family — a gentle soul who always put others first, offering a warm smile, a listening ear, and a helping hand to anyone in need.
A devoted member of Faith Temple Church, Joyce found joy in her faith and community. She loved attending church services, singing hymns, and sharing fellowship with friends who became family. Her faith guided every step of her life and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Known as the best cook around, her kitchen was a place of comfort and laughter. Whether it was Sunday dinner, a holiday feast, or a simple homemade pie, she poured love into every dish. Her recipes and her warmth will continue to nourish our hearts for generations to come.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family — cheering on her grandchildren, offering wisdom, and wrapping everyone in her famous hugs.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion that will live on through all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Lott and husband Richard of Leesville. Grandchildren Jason Lott and wife Jenny of Kingwood. Courtney Bunch and husband Wesley of Leesville. Kimberly Ramos and husband John David of Leesville. Great-grandchildren Jaxon Lott, Colton Maxey, Addie Maxey, Ava Bunch, Cheyenne Bunch, Emersyn Ramos, and Brynlee Ramos. Brother Charles Cowey and wife Teresa of Jones Creek. Sister-in-laws Shirley Cowey, June Cowey, and Peggy Cowey. Brother-in-law Jerry Pierpont and wife Martha. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings Margie Moore, Buddy Cowey, Ray Cowey, Lee Cowey, and VC Cowey.
Though our hearts ache with loss, we take comfort knowing that her gentle spirit and boundless love will remain with us always.
