It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Felecita Cardenas Granado, age 81 of Gonzales, Texas surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 16, 1943 in Moulton, Texas to Francisco and Nieves Cardenas.
Fele, as most people knew her, worked most of her life as a care giver, working in hospitals, nursing homes, & as a private sitter. She had great love and compassion for those she cared for. This type of work was her passion and her gift & was what defined her.
She loved to talk & tell stories from her youth & her life experiences. There was never a dull moment with her. She made a great traveling companion. You never had to worry about falling asleep on the road. She was funny, quick witted, & a good listener. She was a family historian knowing who was born to who, the towns they were born in, how many children they had & so much more. Some fun facts about her are that she loved to wash clothes, play bingo, & watch The Price is Right. She always showed great strength and deep love for her family & friends. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hilario (Eddie) Granado, son Amador Marquez, sisters Julia Franco, Cruz Madrigal, & Alcaria Chavez, brothers Eusebio Cardenas, & Jesse Cardenas.
She is survived by her step sons Joel (Bode) Granado & Laura (Austin), JoeRay Granado (Gonzales), Andy Rodriguez & Liz (Dallas), step daughters Martha Mendez, RosAnn Martinez, Hope Guevara (Gonzales), & Yolanda Mendez (Houston), 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren. Her sisters, Leonor Hinojosa & Narcisco (Weslaco), Dominga Martinez (Sonora), Maria Villarreal & Roberto (Smiley), brother Francisco (Frank) Cardenas & Janet (Austin), & numerous nieces & nephews.
