Friends of NRA event Oct. 8

The Lexington of Texas Friends of NRA event will held Thursday, Oct. 8 at the J.B. Wells Convention Center, 2301 County Road 197.

Local Gonzales County organizations have received more than $50,000 in grants. In 2019, over 25 events were held in South Texas to help raise over $125,000 for local grants and NRA programs. Organizations benefiting from grants include youth shooting programs, safety and training, and law enforcement. Tickets are $40 per person, or a table of eight for $400. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for games, raffles, and a live auction.

Each ticket is eligible for a firearm drawing (must be present to win) and each table buyer will be entered into an exclusive drawing for a Kimber M-2 1911 45acp.

This year’s items include the NRA’s 2020 Gun of the Year from Henry Repeating Arms: the new Side Gate Lever Action .45-70 with NRA Seal, a “We the People” acoustic guitar signed by Ted Nugent, a Sig Saur P320 M17 9mm pistol, a Fostech Eagle Lite Rifle with NRA Logo, as well as some 20 other guns and merchandise.
