Friends of the NRA event Thursday, Aug. 19 at J.B. Wells Expo Center

The Lexington of Texas Friends of NRA event will held Thursday, Aug. 19 at the J.B. Wells Convention Center, 2301 County Road 197. The event will mark the 28th year of Teaching Freedom and Protecting the Shooting Sports.

Local Gonzales County organizations have received more than $50,000 in grants. In 2020, onlu four events were held in South Texas to help raise over $100,000 for local grants and NRA programs. Organizations benefiting from grants include youth shooting programs, safety and training, and law enforcement. Tickets are $40 per person, or a table of eight for $400. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for games, raffles, and a live auction.

Each ticket is eligible for a firearm drawing (must be present to win) and each table buyer will be entered into an exclusive drawing for a Kimber 1911 45 caliber pistol with NRA emblem.

The event will feature some of the top firearms in the country and exclusive NRA merchandise, with over 75% of products made in the U.S.A. This year’s items include the NRA’s 2021 Gun of the Year, the Henry Repeating Arms Lever Action 45/70 lever action rifle with NRA Logo, an acoustic guitar signed by Ted Nugent, Sig Saur P320 M17 9mm pistol with NRA Logo, a Fostech Eagle Lite Rifle in .223 caliber, and a special Sako 6.5 Creedmoor rifle that is dedicated to the late Wayne Spann, one of the founding members of the Lexington Friends of NRA committee, as well as some 20 other guns and merchandise.
