GEDC purchases 30 acres off Harwood Road for industrial growth

The Gonzales Economic Development Corporation (GEDC) has purchased 30 acres located at 2521 Harwood Road in the City of Gonzales. The GEDC and City of Gonzales approved the land purchase in July of this year at a cost of $507,500.

The decision to purchase the property is the implementation of a recommendation made by the Gonzales Economic Development Expansion/Enhancement Committee (GEDEEC). This was a committee comprised of GEDC, GVEC, GVDC, City of Gonzales and Gonzales County officials, and the Gonzales Area Development Corporation. The GEDEEC met in 2019 with the vision to guide growth for the future through collaboration and planning.

While plans for the property have not been formally adopted, it is a consensus of the board to use a portion to expand the Roger Dreyer Municipal Airport and use the remaining acreage for light industrial and commercial development.

For information about the property, contact Jennifer Kolbe, Economic Development Director, (830) 672-2815. To learn more about Gonzales and the Gonzales Economic Development Corporation, visit GonzalesEDC.org.
