GHS announces football, volleyball ticket purchase procedure

Posted

Gonzales High School athletic director Mike Waldie announced how tickets for the school’s football and volleyball games will be sold for the 2020 season using the district’s web site, www.gonzalesisd.net.

Once on the site, click on “departments” from the menu bar. Once on the page, click the “Athletics” link in the first column under the “A” header. Once on the “Athletics” page, you will see grey menu bars on the left side of the page. Click the last bar, “Tickets,” to see a list of upcoming games. Click the “Get Tickets” link for the specific game to purchase your tickets.

Volleyball

For volleyball has a home match against Shiner on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Volleyball participants will have their own code that will allow them to purchase up to four tickets until noon on game day. At 12:01 p.m. on game day, the remaining tickets will be available to the public. This ensures the participants’ relatives have an opportunity to watch them play. Once the UIL-mandated 50% seating capacity is reached, the tickets will be listed as “sold out”. There will be no charge for Sub-Varsity games.

Football

Football has its home opener 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 against El Campo.

Participants – including football players, cheerleaders, band, and Flames – will be able to purchase tickets for that week’s home game up until noon Wednesday.

Each home game will have 1,100 seats available on the home seating area. Participants will be able to purchase up to four seats each.

At 12:01 p.m. on the Wednesday before a home game, the remaining tickets after the participants’ seat purchases will go on sale to the public, as well as for the visiting participants and fans.

For an Apache home game, if the home side of the stands is sold out, unsold seats on the visitor’s side will be available by clicking the “Visitor’s Side” on the ticket ordering link. There will be 725 seats available on the visitor’s side after allowing for seating of the Apache band on the visitor’s side of the field.

The same system will be used for sub-Varsity football games played on Thursdays.

All sales are on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are no reserved seats.

The guidelines are set by the UIL, not the school district. Please see the district’s COVID-19 Mitigation plan for further details. The guidelines include remaining seated with only those you arrived with, to not sit directly in front or behind another group, social distance, and wear a mask.
