Glenn Alfred Kosub Sr. was born on August 11, 1942 to Alfred and Erna Kosub. He married Iva Jane Gordon on February 3, 1984. The angels carried him home to our Heavenly Father on May 9, 2025.
Glenn is survived by sisters, Darlene Koehler and Darnell (Gary) Vader and brother Alan (Francine) Kosub. Children, Teresa (Kurt) Basse of Fredericksburg, Cindy Kosub of Boerne, Glenn (Shannon) Kosub, Jr. of LaVernia, Randy (Kathy) Lamza of Nixon, Kenny (Michelle) Lamza of Gillett,. Grandchildren, Skylar (Kody) Stevens, Trevor (Emily) Kosub, Peyton (Kailey) Kosub, Matthew (Allyson) Basse, Emily Basse, Joshua (Erin) Kosub, Allison (Carter) Ratley, Randi (Jesse) Hoover, Chase (Gabby) Lamza, Keith (Nikki) Lamza, and 15 ½ great-grandchildren: Liam and Kaitlyn Kosub, Micah, Noah and Eli Stevens, Andrew and Amelia Kosub, Landon Ratley, Lincoln Kosub, Coby, Emma, and Khloe Lamza, Karson, Kadience and Kailynn Lamza and Baby Hoover.
Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, brother Lloyd, sister-in-law Rosalie Kosub, brother-in-law, Dennis Koehler, and sister-in-law, Myrna Kosub.
Glenn graduated from La Vernia High school in 1960 and began his professional career as an electrical lineman in San Antonio, retiring in 1989 from City Public Service. Glenn’s first love was always farming and ranching. After retirement, he began his “real life” as a farmer
and rancher in Gonzales County. Glenn raised some of the best hay and cattle to be found in the area. His brisket was legendary. Nothing made Glenn happier than spending time on the farm with family, especially enjoying time spent with his grandchildren and many
great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Kosub, Jr, Joshua Kosub, Trevor Kosub, Peyton Kosub, Kody Stevens, Matthew Basse, Tommy Kosub, and Jesse Hoover.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm, Monday, May 12, 2025. at Finch Funeral Chapel La Vernia, Texas.
A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Finch Funeral Home in LaVernia, Texas. Burial immediately to follow at Union Valley Cemetery, Nixon.
