Gloria Ann Romero

Gloria Ann Romero, age 78, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021.

She was born July 20, 1943 in Gonzales to Alvaro and Theresa Vasquez Gonzales.

She was formerly the head baker at H & H Cafe and Bakery. She enjoyed watching high school football games, playing softball, dancing and cherished her time with family. She was a devout Catholic, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ray H. Romero; son, Michael Anthony Rodriguez (Mary) of Lytle; daughters, Denise Freudensprung (Fred) of Sweeny, Tracie Pena (Victor Devall) of Killeen and Beckie Gomez (Jacob) of Round Rock; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kocian of Victoria, Alice Leist of Yoakum and Jane Carrillo of Sweeny; brothers, Daniel Rivera of Edinburg and Eliseo (Junie) Rivera of Victoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Deacon Dennis Kutach officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
