Gonzales County under flash flood watch

As of 7 a.m. on Friday, April 30, Gonzales County is under a flash flood watch through 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 1. 

According to the National Weather Service, the area is expected to see 2 to 4 inches of rainfall, with possible totals of 6 inches in some areas. 

Heavy rainfall can affect those near creeks, streams and low-water crossings in particular. 

Here is the watch alert published by the NWS:

"Bexar-Comal-Guadalupe-Fayette-Atascosa-Wilson-Karnes-Gonzales-
De Witt-Lavaca-
Including the cities of San Antonio, New Braunfels, Seguin,
La Grange, Pleasanton, Floresville, Karnes City, Gonzales, Cuero,
and Hallettsville

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM CDT THIS MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south central Texas,
  including the following areas, Atascosa, Bexar, Comal, De
  Witt, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes, Lavaca, and
  Wilson.

* From 7 AM CDT this morning through Saturday evening

* Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches with isolated totals in excess of
  6 inches will be possible.

* The heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding of creeks,
  streams, and low-water crossings.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued."
