Gonzales County Underground Water Conservation District hearing on rules April 8

The Gonzales County Underground Water Conservation District has given notice of a public hearing to be held on April 8, 2025 at 5:30 p.m., at the District office at 522 Saint Matthew St., Gonzales. The public hearing will begin at 5:30 pm, and the regular board meeting will immediately follow.

A copy of the draft rules is available on the District’s website at www.gcuwcd.org and can be found attached. Written public comments will be received until April 8 at 2 pm. The district has proposed draft rules which will impact local towns and landowners in Gonzales County, and local stakeholders are encouraged to submit written comments and concerns to the district, and attend and raise concern about the large volumes of groundwater being transported out of Gonzales County.

Members of the public wishing to provide oral public comment must attend the meeting in-person; however, any person may view or listen to the meeting via audio and video conference call. The audio and video conference opens five minutes before the 5:30 p.m. beginning of the meeting.
