Gonzales Healthcare Systems appoints Anzaldua to be new CEO

Brandon Anzaldua first came to GHS in December 2019, taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer and later added the duties of Chief Operational Officer. His transition to Chief Executive Officer will take place this summer. During his time at GHS, he has gained the trust and respect of his peers, and the staff he will oversee.

Brandon has extensive experience in the healthcare world, with over 15 combined years of service in various health-related sectors. His healthcare career began in financial audit, but has since included compliance, regulatory, contracts, and operational audits. His last 6 years have been spent serving in executive leadership positions. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Anzaldua’s accomplishments at Gonzales Healthcare Systems include:

~ Serving as the implementation lead for the electronic health record (EHR) conversion,

~ Conducting the first charge master review and implementation of an annual review to maintain revenue growth that coincides with growing expense, and

~ Facilitating the denials management review process that resulted in a 20 percent reduction in denials.

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting/Management from Sam Houston State University. He gained his Masters of Business Administration at Louisiana State University Shreveport. Additionally, he is a Certified Internal Auditor.

Brandon will assume CEO duties this coming summer, once the two largest projects that Gonzales Healthcare Systems is working on—facility renovation planning and electronic health records software transition—move into their completion stages. Current CEO Gerald Parton is managing the renovation plan, while Anzaldua is leading the software transition.

Gonzales Healthcare Systems is a hospital district located in Gonzales, Texas. It is managed by QHR Health out of Nashville, Tennessee. Because of this partnership, GHS has been able to remain an independent healthcare provider, while still having access to the education and resources needed to provide the best local healthcare.
