Gonzales ISD is excited to announce that Casie Ehrig is joining the district as a mental health counselor beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7. Ehrig, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), will focus on meeting the social, emotional, and mental needs of students districtwide.

Rejoining the Apache family after having previously served as an elementary/intermediate teacher for GISD, Ehrig is excited to rejoin the team and to provide individual and group counseling services to support both students and staff.

“I am so excited to return to GISD as part of an amazing team working hard to grow greatness!” Ehrig shared. “I am grateful for this opportunity to use my knowledge, experience, and skills as a Licensed Professional Counselor to help provide advanced mental health services and support for students in GISD. I am looking forward to coming alongside the school counselors, teachers, and staff members in working together for the greater good of our students, our school district, and our community. Thank you for this opportunity!”

Ehrig has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children of all ages utilizing psychotherapy and play therapy/sand tray therapy, assisting clients in mental health crisis situations, and developing treatment plans for their continued therapy and well-being.

Her services as a licensed school counselor and a mental health counselor will support the health and wellness of students and staff in Gonzales ISD beyond general needs addressed via other support systems already established on campuses.
