Shaking off a 2020 season cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gonzales Little League is preparing to resume play in 2021.

While dates and schedules are being still being worked out, the league’s officials have made available the registration forms and age-related reference charts. No registration deadline has been set.

The forms may be download directly from this story.

According to Treasurer Jennifer Almaguer, parents will turn in the forms and payments at collection points that she hopes will be set in coming days.

She urged parents to complete the forms in advance of the announced collection points.

Forms are available on the league’s Facebook page (Gonzales Little League), the national Little League International web site (www.littleleague.org, then go under “Menu” to “Forms and Publications), and here at the Gonzales Inquirer web site (www.gonzalesinquirer.com).

Almaguer said that the league is also working to arrange places where paper copies of the forms may be obtained.

She says people should check the league’s Facebook page for updates (which will also be reported by The Inquirer). Questions may be directed through the Facebook’s page Messenger function.

Any parent who paid fees last year and did not receive a refund will have that balance rolled over as a credit to this year’s fees.

Costs for the 2021 season are:

T-ball: $50

Peewee through Majors: $65

Junior League: $85

There will be no tryouts for teams. Managers and coaches will be handed a list of eligible players on draft day, and then select their players based on draft order.
