Gonzales man’s pumpkin patch continues to grow

When the Gonzales Inquirer first reported on Brian Jurek’s garden a couple of months ago, his pumpkin patch was no more than 20 feet. Now it’s extending to his driveway.

Jurek continues to take care of his pumpkin patch despite being disabled. He hopes he can use the opportunity heading into the fall season to show off his pumpkin patch in any kind way, including as a site for photo shoots.

“I want to show people that pumpkins come from the ground. They don't come from H-E-B or Walmart and I have lots of pumpkins. There's pumpkins touching pumpkins. I got white ones, I got gray ones, or whatever colors,” Jurek said.

Jurek continues to exhibit his garden through social media on Instagram and Facebook.

“I take pictures every day and you see how much bigger it is. I mean, it’s fixing to go into my shop. You know, my propane tank, is painted like a pumpkin. And it's surrounded now. And I think that this looks awesome.”

Currently Jurek doesn’t know what he’ll do with his pumpkin patch, but he said he would love people to come and enjoy its beauty.
