The Gonzales Museum Advisory Board reported that repairs to the museum’s roof have been completed after many months of work. The board also discussed possible future repairs to the reflection pool in front of the museum, which board members said either needs to have a filtration system installed to adapt to modern needs, as well as the cost associated.

According to an assessment of the museum conducted by the state in 2018, the installation of a filtration system in the pool, in order to comply with requirements of the Texas Historical Commission, would cost anywhere between $346,000 and $261,000.

Director of the Gonzales Memorial Museum Gary Schurig said he has also added high quality history projects done and left behind at campuses within the GISD to the museum’s collection.
