Gonzales Noon Lions will be hosting its fourth Empty Bowl Project on Tuesday, Dec. 3, with serving from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
This event is a national movement across the country to fight hunger. Ticket holders will be choosing a beautiful handcrafted ceramic bowl from more than 400 bowls that have been made by local potters and artists.
The ticket also includes soup donated by local restaurants, homemade bread, dessert and a drink. Local restaurants that are participating in this event are Gonzales Bistro, Belle Oaks, Running M, Come and Crepe It, La Bella Tavola, Cow Palace, Gonzales Memorial Hospital, and the Alcalde. Proceeds from the tickets will go to Gonzales Meals on Wheels and GCAM, the local food bank.
There will also be a cash bar and live music. This is truly a community project with organizations participating such as Red Hen Pottery, Purple Cactus Potteri, Gonzales Art Group, First Baptist Church, 4H Gonzales and Gonzales Leos Club. The Elks are participating in this project by graciously providing the facilities for the event.
Tickets can be purchased for $25 from any Gonzales Noon Lion, Personal Impressions, the Gonzales Chamber, Peach Creek Antiques or at the door. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will also be in attendance.
After the event, take your beautiful bowl home and let it be a reminder that there are people with empty bowls. The gorgeous bowls can also be great Christmas presents.
You can also do some Christmas shopping at the silent auction. Proceeds from this event help to fight hunger. Come on out and experience the fun while making a difference! What a great way to start the Christmas Season.
