Gregory James Bludau

Gregory James “Greg” Bludau, 66, of Corpus Christi, formerly of Gonzales, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.  He was born April 28, 1955, in Gonzales the son of Leslie and Dorothy Brzozowski Bludau.  He graduated with the Class of 1973 from Gonzales High School.  He attended Bee County College for two years where he was awarded a baseball scholarship and later transferred to Texas Lutheran College where he graduated in May of 1977.  He loved sports and was an All Conference pitcher and outfielder.

Greg was employed with Austin Pump and Supply where he was a valued employee for 30 years.  He was a very devout Catholic and attended Mass daily, his faith was very important to him and he demonstrated this in his daily life.  He enjoyed golf and was an avid hunter.  He especially enjoyed following his nephews and niece in their athletics.

A close friend of Greg wrote the following:  “ Today we lost a truly good man! He really loved his mother and his two brothers! He loved and cared for all of his relatives! His family was very important to him.  Greg had a passion for hunting, he built blinds, filled feeders so we could all have a great time. I am proud to say he was a true friend and a brother to me. He will greatly missed by all who knew him.  Rest In Peace Greg.”

He is survived by his mother Dorothy Bludau of Gonzales; brothers David Bludau of Corpus Christi and Tommy Bludau and wife Sara of Schulenburg; nephews Kyle Bludau and wife Stephanie of Weimar and Ross Bludau and wife Tanner of Weimar; niece Reagan Bludau and fiancée Zach Akers of Houston; great-niece Brooklyn Bludau; cousins Mike Brzozowski, Susie Selzer, Donna Malik and Dolores Warren. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Leslie Gene Bludau.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, February 10 with the Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday February 11, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Martini officiating.  Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Kyle Bludau, Ross Bludau, Zach Akers, Danny Threadgill, Mike Brzozowski and Chad Hole, Jr.

Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church or donor’s charity of choice.
