Guadalupe Alvarez, of Alice, passed away peacefully at home into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the age of 82. Guadalupe was born on July 31, 1939 to Jose and Dionicia Garcia and raised in Gonzales, TX. She married her loving husband, Lupe Alvarez of 59 years on September 1st 1962. Lupe was a remarkable woman who always held her head high, but never forgot where she came from. In addition to her many accomplishments throughout her life, she loved selling Mary Kay Cosmetics. She began as a beauty consultant and became a Mary Kay Sales Director. A driven salesperson, she also sold insurance, fashion jewelry, often creating her own earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Lupe also enjoyed helping others in the community, especially her time spent at Catholic Caring Ministries alongside Sister Blanchette. She visited many places in her lifetime, traveling to New Orleans, LA, Miami and Orlando, FL, Las Vegas, NV, The Smoky Mountains, The Rocky Mountains, Burlington, VT, Washington D.C., Phoenix, AZ, California, Monterrey, Mexico City, and Acapulco, MX, Honolulu, HI, Tokyo, Japan, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Denmark, and Sweden. However, at home with her family was her favorite place to be. Lupe enjoyed supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events, always cheering them on with a smile. Lupe was an original. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with every ounce of her being and was so proud of them. The world was a better place because Lupe was in it. Knowing Jesus, she did not cross Jordan alone. He guided her to the other side and claimed her for His very own.

Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Garcia and Dionicia Wesch, brother Bartolo Garcia, and sister Felipe Molina.

Lupe is survived by her husband, Lupe Alvarez; daughters, Belinda Guerra, Yolanda [Charlie] Ramirez, Louise [George] Woods, LaVerne [Jon] Villanti, Valerie [Bruce] Moore; sons, Lupe Padilla and Linus Alvarez; grandchildren: Leanna, Jacob, Gavin, Aurielle, Gabrielle, Matthew, Ethan, Wyatt, Bailey, Linden, Waylon, Weston, Chris, Rainey, Adam, Stephanie, Tina, Steven, Tristan, and Simon; great grandchildren: Mia, Ali, Elisa, Anthony, Annabelle, Ava Rose, Brayden, Viviana, Gabriel, and Aubrey Monroe; siblings: Jose Garcia, Jesusa Evangelista, Denise De La Garza, Manuel Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Raymond Garcia, Rosie Garcia, Johnny Garcia, Martina Garcia, Thomasa Hawkins.
