Hazel Lorene Glasco Baker

Hazel Lorene (Glasco) Baker, age 77, of Smiley, Texas passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on October 22, 2021. Lorene, as she was known, as born on September 18, 1944, in Gonzales County, Texas to Travis Raymond Glasco and Miriam Lou (McGLothine) Glasco who precede her in death along with her son, William Douglas Baker. Lorene married Bobby Joe Baker, Sr. in Nixon, Texas on March 1, 1968. They enjoyed just shy of 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. 

Lorene’s memory will be cherished by her son, Bobby Joe Baker, Jr., and wife Lisa; daughter, Kimberley Baker, and husband Victor Jimenez; grandchildren, Travis Baker, Joshua Baker, Kristan Baker, Victoria Gonzales, and Levi Jimenez; great-grandchildren, Symphony Alexander, Clarity Alexander, and Hazel Alexander; sister, Virginia Biggs, and husband Douglas; brother, James Glasco, and wife Janice; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, 1:00pm-2:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Finch Funeral Chapel, Nixon, Texas.

Burial will follow at Bundick Cemetery in Smiley, Texas. Pastors Terry Davis and Marvin Miles will officiate. If desired, donations may be made in Lorene’s name to the Nixon Fire Department, 209 N.
