High school students bring cheer to the elderly

Posted

Texan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Gonzales expressed their gratitude to Gonzales High School art class students for bringing holiday time cheer to residents by decking the halls (and windows) with well meaning thoughts of joy and holiday fun.

The students visited the center and spent quality time preparing holiday artwork for senior residents to enjoy during the holiday season. This act of joy and community service is a beautiful reminder to us all to share with our community, especially those less able to provide their own cheer this year, and remember that we all have much to be thankful for this season.

The act of providing this holiday artwork was not only a physical act of community service, but an act of love and sharing during often a sad time of year for those who can not be with their families during the festivities.

Perhaps able community members will be encouraged to spend time with those this holiday season that may not be able to otherwise attend community events, or spend time with family, due to reasons outside of their control.
