The earthly journey of Ima Gene Bouldin Roycroft ended Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born in Harwood, TX, April 25, 1939, to Malcom ‘Bunk’ Bouldin and Gladys Fullilove Bouldin. Ima lost her mother when she was seven years old. She started school in Harwood and graduated from Gonzales High School in the class of 1957. She later enrolled in Southwest Texas State University and earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree.
Ima met Raymond Roycroft, and they were married in Goliad on August 06, 1960. Together they taught school in West Texas in the towns of Rankin, Littlefield, Denver City and Crane. Ima taught Journalism and was a counselor in her education career. Ima and Raymond enjoyed making various woodworking crafts through the years.
Ima touched the lives of many students and many who became life-long friends. She lost her beloved husband in 2001 and in 2007 returned home to the Bouldin Ranch to enjoy the peaceful country life her remaining years.
A visitation will take place at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, with a Celebration of Life service starting at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Harwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Christopher Fullilove, Brad McDonald, Mitch McDonald, Dillon McDonald, Gene Richardson and Curtis Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will include Clint Fairchild, Doug Fullilove and Sean York.
