Janet Roeder

Janet Roeder, 83, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at her home. She was born Mar. 8, 1937 in Willow Springs to the late Bohumil and Benita (Koner) Janicek. 

Janet graduated from Fayetteville High School and married her beloved Melvin Roeder on Sept. 17, 1956 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. They settled in Shiner area and began farming and ranching and eventually became co-owners of Roeder’s Mobile Feed Mill. Melvin and Janet were founding members of the South Texas Wheel Spinners and Crank Twisters Club and members of the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. Janet worked many years as the bookkeeper for Gonzales Butane. They were blessed with three children, one son and two daughters. Melvin and Janet celebrated 57 years of marriage until his passing, Dec. 9, 2013. Janet remained a joyful, contented person even as her health declined. She always said, she had the greatest life and had everything she ever wanted. 

At Janet’s request, no funeral service will be held.
