Joel M. Campos

Joel M. Campos, 30, of New Braunfels, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022.  He was born January 15, 1992 in Yoakum, Texas, the son of Hermelinda Sanchez.  Joel enjoyed powerlifting and crossfit.  Always with a beautiful smile and motivating people with his talent, encouraging family, friends and strangers, who later in life became his friends.  Always listening to his country music, enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Always showing up unexpected, always surprising Grandma. He loved horses, guns, motor bikes and especially his dog (Baby) Apollo.  Joel was practically raised by his grandpa, with whom he is now reunited with, he loved his uncles Jesse and Alex Campos, who he affectionately called “Monkeys”.  He treasured time spent with his nieces, nephews and stopping by to surprise his cousins Alexia and Alejandro Campos.  He was a genuine person who was full of love and respect. 

 He is survived by his mother Hermelinda and husband Saul Sanchez; sisters Damaris R. and husband Francisco Guzman and Kristina Reina; grandmother Domitila Campos and nieces and nephews Anamadi Guzman, Bibiana Guzman, Vicente Guzman and Jordien Guzman.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather Pastor Jose M. Campos, Jr.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday February 27 at J.B. Wells Expo Center with a prayer service beginning at 5 p.m.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at the Expo Center with Pastor Ruben Sanchez officiating.  Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Travis Vega, Tony Vega, Derrick Camarillo, Zach Muehlstein, Corey Odell and Jonathan Guerrero.
