John Burrous “J.B.” Mahan

On June 15, 2021, John Burrous “J.B.” Mahan passed away. J.B. was born on June 25, 1936, in Nixon, Texas to Derwood and Lethe (Cook) Mahan. After serving in the United States Navy, J.B. served his community as a firefighter with the San Antonio Fire Department, retiring after 29 years. J.B. also drove a school bus for NEISD for 16 years.

J.B. is survived by his wife: Janet T. (Loep) Mahan; stepson: Fred L. Voigt; step-grandchildren: Brittany Balderas, Krystal Cantu, Jessibb Voigt, and Collin Creswell; brothers: Charles Mahan and Harold Mahan (Florence Ruth); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

J.B. is preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Bea (Gary) Mahan; second wife: Bea (Creswell) Mahan; and stepson: Gary Creswell.

Visitation will be held at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas on Friday, June 18, 2021, 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
