John Douglas “Doug” Rinehart

John Douglas “Doug” Rinehart. 87, of Gonzales, passed away Monday December 6, 2021.  He was born August 11, 1934 in the Saturn Community the son of Benjamin Franklin Rinehart and Ennis Ozella Wilson Rinehart.

He was a graduate of Waelder High School.  He married Anita Lou Everett on September 25, 1954 in Worland, Wyoming.  He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.  He was the vice-president of Energy Recovery Systems in Houston and retired in 1991. Doug enjoyed working outside doing gardening and cooking.  Most of all he loved playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Anita Rinehart of Gonzales; daughter Susan Carmichall and husband Jay of Conroe; son Douglas Alan Rinehart of Gonzales; grandchildren Rachel Meraz and husband Ricardo, Sean Douglas Rinehart and Jeremy Carmichall; great-grandchildren Ricardo Meraz Jr. and Xander Douglas Meraz and brother-in-law Junior Everett of Gonzales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Charlotte Rinehart, sister Wilma Brownyer, brothers Fred Rinehart Sr., Howard Rinehart, Tony Rinehart and Horace Rinehart.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 with Reverend Robert Ramirez officiating.
