John Eugene Frankenhauser, 75, was born on July 30, 1944 in Gonzales Texas to the late Otto Eugene Frankenhauser and Bertha Olivia Null. He passed away on Jan. 17, 2020 at home. He was preceded in death by his son, John Clifford Frankenhauser; mother and father, Louis B. Null and Bertha O. Null; sister, Sarah Lee Reininger; and nephew, Bruce Berton Reininger. John is survived by his wife Betty of Gonzales, Texas; His daughter Kimberlee Anne Frankenhauser McLeod and husband Adam McLeod of Fort White, Fla.; His greatest joy, his grandchildren, Bailey Olivia Gilmore and husband Christopher Gilmore of Newberry, Fla.; Jacob Clifford McLeod and Brooke Octavia McLeod of Fort White, Fla.; stepdaughters, Allison Hutcherson (Jeff) and Amy Teeter (Wesley); stepson Andy Rodger (Ashley). A niece Missy Hall and nephew Chris Reininger; nine step-grandchildren and countless cousins and friends. He was welcoming a great grandson in the coming months, Nolan Pierce Gilmore.

John had many hobbies and interests which included, but were not limited to, hunting, fishing and watching westerns. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as the first Lieutenant. John was a retired educator of 15 years in Alachua County, Fla. He was a member of the Cherry Hill Lodge 12 A.F. & A.M.

Home going services for John will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Seydler- Hill Funeral Home, 906 St. Paul Gonzales, Texas 78629. Visitation for John will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Gonzales Masonic Cemetery in Gonzales. Pallbearer’s: Emmet Baker Jr., Ronald R Baker, Arnold Lee Baker, Charley Kitzman, Tinker Brown and Kenny McGinty. Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob McLeod, Chris Reininger, Johnnie Hall. Memorials may be made to the Gonzales County Veteran’s Memorial.
