Jose Martinez “Joe” Garcia

Jose Martinez “Joe” Garcia, 84, of Kyle, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021.  He was born May 30, 1937 in Gonzales the son of Modesto and Dominga Martinez Garcia.  He married Jamie Lee Hanks in 1979.  He was a retired rancher.  He enjoyed breaking horses and started at a young age. He was a true animal lover and rescued many no matter the kind or size, especially dogs.  His hobbies included fishing and tinkering on cars.  Joe was a talented mechanic and could fix or manufacture anything. He had a big heart and believed in helping anyone, this trait was passed down to his children teaching the importance of being kind and giving to others.  Most of all he loved time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Jamie Lee Garcia of Kyle; daughters Mary Jo Garcia of Kyle, JoAnn Evans and husband Tory of Midlothian and Sylvia Garcia of Kyle; granddaughter Mila Jo Evans; sisters Mary Canales and husband Max of Gonzales, Josefina Molina of Seguin and Gloria Salazar of Gonzales.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son John Henry Garcia, brothers Frank Garcia and Juan Garcia.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021.  Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Jesse Elizondo officiating.  Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery.
