Lady Mustangs beat Pettus in four sets

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs traveled to Pettus Tuesday, Sept. 10 for a non-district match against the Lady Eagles.

The Lady Mustangs rebounded from the loss to Three Rivers with a four-set win over Pettus (25-16, 26-24, 22-25, 25-18).

Nixon-Smiley will travel to Gonzales Friday, Sept. 13 for an intra-county match with the Lady Apaches; the Lady Mustangs met Gonzales early in the season in the Cuero tournament and lost to them.

The Lady Mustangs will have three more non-district games before their district opener against the Stockdale Lady Brahmas Friday, Sept. 27.

Nixon-Smiley will host Yorktown Tuesday, Sept. 17; travel to Marion for match against the Lady Bulldogs Friday, Sept. 20; and host the Runge Yellowjackets Tuesday, Sept. 24 for the final non-district match of the season.
