Lady Mustangs compete in Marion tournament

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs traveled to Marion Thursday, Dec. 5 for their second tournament of the 2024-25 basketball season.
The Lady Mustangs competed against four teams during the three-day tournament; they took on Blanco, Long Creek, Devine and Marion.
Nixon-Smiley went 2-2 in the tournament, beating Blanco, 58-36 and Marion, 55-53, and losing to Devine, 66-34 and Long Creek, 39-32.
The Lady Mustangs improved to 7-10 on the season with district play three weeks away.
The Lady Mustangs traveled on the road for game against the Somerset Lady Bulldogs Tuesday, Dec. 10, and they’ll return home for a game against the La Vernia Lady Bears Friday, Dec. 13.
The La Vernia game tips off at 6:30 p.m.
