The Waelder Lady Wildcats’ historic season came to a close Monday, Nov. 4, in Caldwell.
The Lady Wildcats fell to the Buckholts Lady Badgers in four sets (25-18, 9-25, 10-25, 22-25).
Waelder kicked off the match with a set one win, but lost the next two sets; the Lady Wildcats were three points away from forcing a fifth set when they lost.
The Lady Wildcats, under first-year head coach Abigale Monigold, battled through adversity in the 2024 volleyball season: only having seven players on the team, dealing with multiple forfeits, and had to battle Prairie Lea for the third final playoff spot in District 28-A with a play-in match.
Waelder closed out its season with a 2-12 overall record, 2-5 district record and as bi-district finalists.
The Lady Wildcats will be back on the volleyball court in Fall 2025.
