Lisa "Liso" Ann Rodriguez Maldonado

Lisa "Liso" Ann Rodriguez Maldonado was called to rest on October 7, 2021 at the age of 53, at the Hospice of South Texas Dornburg Center of Compassion in Victoria, Texas. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Her battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Lisa came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.  

Her loving spirit captured the hearts of many and enjoyed making people smile at Circle G Truckstop where she worked for over 10 years. Lisa enjoyed cooking and baking goods for her family and friends. She was always there to lend a hand in helping family, friends, and those in need. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lisa. She had a passion for music, loved dancing and spending time with family and friends. Lisa, never having children of her own, adored her nieces and nephews who she loved with all her heart.  

Lisa is survived by her husband of 5 years Daniel Maldonado, her parents: father Ascension John Rodriguez, Jr (Edith), her mother Catherine Ramirez (Frank), brother Daniel Renteria (Elena) of Fort Worth, Texas, sister Linda Rodriguez of Victoria, Texas, brother Ascencion John Rodriguez, III of Gonzales, Texas, brother Jesse Rodriguez (Marta) of Victoria, Texas, nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Daniella, Erica, Alyssa, Elea, Andre, Vincente, Jazlyn, Jace, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.  

Lisa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Ascencion, Sr. (U.S. Navy) and Bisenta Rodriguez, her maternal grandparents Domingo and Nativida Nunez, aunts and uncles, Richard Rodriguez (U.S. Navy), Delfina Schaeffer, Jesse Nunez (U.S. Marines), Jovita Nunez Basadua, Barbara Nunez and Godparents Tom and Jovita Nunez.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A celebration of life service was held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 10 a.m. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, with Pastor Jesse Elizondo as celebrant. Interment followed in the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Frank DeLeon, Philip Deleon, Ricky Nunez, Roland Nunez, Dino Jimenez, Vincente Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers: Andre Molina, Kolby J. Gonzales, Jonathan Velazquez
