Manuela Reyna

Manuela Reyna, 81, of Gonzales, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022.  She was born June 17, 1941 in Cardoncita, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the daughter of Francisco and Maria Martinez Carreon.

She married Rodrigo Reyna on August 10, 1958 in Catorce, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She was a longtime owner of Reyna’s Restaurant in Gonzales.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Rodrigo Reyna; daughters Romana Llamas and husband Constantino, Maria Molina and husband Reyes and Patricia Reyna and husband Andres; son Luis Reyna and wife Elma; sisters Modesto Carreon, Bernarda Ramirez, Antonia Palacios and Merejilda Medina; brothers Martin Carreon, Ramon Carreon and Reyes Carreon; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, children Modesta Reyna, Tomas Reyna, Joe Reyna, Alfredo Reyna and Jose Luis Reyna; sister Rosa Medina; brothers Jose Carreon and Agapito Carreon.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosary being recited at 7.p.m.  Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Martini officiating.  Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Jose Matamoros, Julian Matamoros, Cesar Matamoros, Ivan Reyna, Hector Llamas and Armando Llamas. Honorary pallbearers are Saul Llamas, Gabriel Molina, Adrian Molina and Emmanuel Matamoros.
