Marian Bernice Moeller, 77, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020. Bernice was born Jan. 22, 1943 in Gonzales to Thomas Pirkle and Grace Hahn Pirkle. She married Arnold Arthur Moeller on Nov. 24, 1962 in Gonzales. Marian was a member of Emmanuel Fellowship Church.

Marian was born and raised in Gonzales. As a young lady she picked cotton and attended school. She graduated with the Gonzales High School Class of 1960. She moved to Louisiana after high school and worked as a waitress for her sister Florence. In returning to Gonzales she went to work as a waitress for her sister Kathleen. Bernice worked for the Denver Perkins Law Office as secretary before accepting a medical secretary position at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital in Ottine. She worked there many years and later joined the medical office of Dr. Larry Browne. Bernice worked in Dr. Bob Williamson’s medical office and Dr. Gloria Haug’s Dental office before retiring.

Bernice was an excellent cook and delighted in having her family around her for Sunday dinners.  Sundays were a day for worship and there was no better way to continue celebrating the glory of God than to prepare a magnificent meal and share it with those she loved after church. Indeed, Bernice did love, she loved her children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends completely. Her gentleness and kindness were always on display when she was surrounded by her grandchildren. She had an inner strength and conviction to her faith that dare not be challenged, she stood fast in her beliefs. She led her family in that same faith and lived her life as an example to her family. Her other loves were feeding stray cats all over town and as far away as Ottine. She enjoyed sitting in her yard admiring her flowers as they bloomed and the listening to the sounds of life all around her.

Marian Bernice Moeller is survived by her loving family, daughter, Deborah Moeller, son and daughter-in-law; Scott Dwaine Moeller and Cheryl all of Gonzales, sister; Barbara Klein of LaGrange, brothers and sisters-in-law; Leslie and Virginia Pirkle, Thomas and Shirley Pirkle, Gaury and Janet Pirkle, sister-in-law; Vlasta Pirkle, brother-in-law; Wayne “Buck” Hollan, grandchildren; Chelsey Moeller (Jesse Pruett), Cailinn Moeller, Jordan Pruett (Connor), and Jaylee Moeller.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, James Moeller, sisters; Kathleen Ruddock, Florence Hollan, and Tommie Lee Eichmann, and brother; Stephan Arthur “Bubba” Pirkle.
