Marian Theresia Brom Vyvjala

Marian Theresia Brom Vyvjala, 92, of Gonzales, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022. Marian was born November 25, 1929 in Lavaca County to John J. and Mary Sykora Brom. She married Clarence Vyvjala on November 5, 1955 in Moulton, Texas. Marian was a charter member of the St. James Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. Marian was an active church member until she moved to The Heights of Gonzales in April 2011. 

Marian grew up in Lavaca County near Moulton. She graduated from the Moulton High School with the Class of 1947. She worked with her husband at Quality Print Shop from 1976 to 2009 all the while raising two children, keeping house, and preparing magnificent meals for her family. She was an amazing cook, canner, and seamstress. She enjoyed yard work and treasured the fruit of her labor. She was a loving and doting mother and grandmother and a faithful wife and companion to her husband. 

Marian Vyvjala is survived by her adoring family; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Vyvjala Stickle and George of Smithville, son, Michael Vyvjala of Gonzales, granddaughter, Hannah Louise Stickle of Smithville, sisters, Georgia Raab of Shiner, Emily Migl of Victoria, Margie Novak (Victor) of Yoakum, and Martha Migl of Victoria. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm Monday, June 20, 2022 in St. James Catholic Church with Deacon Terry Brennan presiding. Prior to the mass a viewing at the church will be from 1 to 1:45 pm. Burial will follow in the Gonzales Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: George Stickle, Doug Janssen, Mark Friedrich, and Steve, Stephen, and Leo John Vyvjala. Memorials may be made to the St. James Altar Society or the Gonzales Catholic Daughters.
