Martin Jesse Ramirez

Martin Jesse Ramirez, 68, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022.  He was born January 21, 1954 in Greeley, Colorado the son of Jesse Garcia and Eulalia Cantu.  He was a retired CDL driver and worked for several companies throughout the years. He was a very dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and helped with numerous church activities.  He loved kids and was a bus monitor with G.I.S.D.  He enjoyed Gonzales Apache sports and his favorite Dallas Cowboys; dancing, cooking and especially barbequing.

He is survived by his sons Fabian Ramirez and Adrian Ramirez both of Gonzales and Dillion Alva of Conroe; daughters Angela Lopez of Round Rock and Michelle Ramirez of Gonzales; brothers David “DiDi’ Ramos, Jr. and Ricky Ramos both of Phoenix, Arizona. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edward and Eli and sisters Angela, Janie and Rosalinda.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 19 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m.  The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jason Martini officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Ricky Ramos, David “DiDi” Ramos, Gabriel Pena, Clint Garcia, Hector Rodriguez and David Ramirez.  Honorary pallbearers are Ray Lopez, Fabian Ramirez, Adrian Ramirez, Fabian Ramirez, Jr., Camren Ramirez, Sebastian Ramirez and Noah Ramirez.
