Mary George Perriman

Mary George Perriman, 93, peacefully passed away after suffering from a stroke, March 17, 2022, at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Seguin, TX.

Mary was born February 18, 1929, in Union Valley, TX, the daughter of predeceased parents, Otis Walton Pattillo and Ruth Spear Pattillo. Her husband of 59 years, Eulane Grant “Jack" Perriman, is predeceased, as well as her brother, Otis Scott Pattillo (Erna) and sister, John Hensley Beard (Forest).

Graduating from Nixon High School in 1945, Mary attended business school and then worked as a telephone operator in San Antonio, TX. As in post-WWII fashion, Mary met Jack at a USO event, and they were married on November 30, 1945. In San Antonio, they began their family and are survived by daughters, Marilane Dendy (Len), Dripping Springs, TX,  and Scottie Beth Baker (Michael), Cost, TX, and their son, Jeffrey Walton Perriman (Adriane), Nixon, TX.

From San Antonio, Mary and Jack moved to Garland, TX and contributed many years of support and generosity to the Garland community, family events, and school activities. Mary’s quick wit, compassionate service, and humor added much joy for all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She especially enjoyed sports (Cowboys) and Garland Owls Friday night games. They attended Axe Memorial Methodist Church.

After retirement, Mary and Jack returned to her childhood beginnings, creating their last home together in Nixon, TX, and what the family affectionately calls, “The Old Red Hill.”  While there, Mary served as Union Valley Homecoming Treasurer, as well as a committee member for the Union Valley Cemetery Association. Her life came full circle as she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Scottie and Mike Baker, in Cost, TX.

Mary gave 100% devotion and love to her family. She is survived by grandchildren: *Andrew Thomas Bryan, Ontario, CA, *Jennifer Lane Tucker (Jeremy), Cody, Wyoming, *Mary DeShane Fintoni (Laurent), Bologna, Italy, *Jay Michael Kniffen (Heather), Joshua, TX, *Melody Ruth Anderson, NYC, NY, *Kyle Alan Anderson, San Antonio, TX,  *Erin Bowen (Brad), Buda, TX, *Shannon Spencer (Wes), McKinney, TX, *Bianca Lovano (Alex), Nixon, TX. She is survived by great-grandchildren: Brett Gordon, Brooke Baker (Mark), Wyatt Kniffen, Chase Bowen, Maggie Bowen, Kira Spencer, and Leah Marie Vasquez. She is survived by great-great grandchild, Mark Baker, Jr. Aside from being survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Mary is survived by sisters-in-law: Doris Alizalde, and Joyce Fly.

Visitation will be Monday, March 21, 2022, 5:00pm-7:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, TX. A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2022, 10:00am, also at Finch Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Valley Cemetery. Reverend Marvin Miles will officiate the services.
