Melvin (Bubba) Gene Roecker

Melvin (Bubba) Gene Roecker, 87, of Seguin, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021. Melvin was born on December 12, 1933, in Gonzales, Texas to Willie Roecker and Dina Mary Elizabeth Esse Roecker. He married Sarah G. Krause on January 11, 1943, in the Belmont Methodist Church.

Melvin worked as a pipeline superintendent for 40 years before he retired in Belmont to work a small ranch. He loved to tinker and could fix anything. In later years, he and Sarah moved to Seguin to relax and spend more time with family. He loved to joke around and pester the grandkids and great grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

Bubba is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years: Sarah G. Roecker; his three children: Sharon A. Edwards, husband, Richard, Michael G. Roecker, wife, Ruth, and Dennis L. Roecker, wife, Carol; 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers: Henry, Edwin, Morris, and Ernest (Butch) Roecker; and four sisters: Mary Ann, Olthea, Bertha and Elvira.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 9 to 10 a.m. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Texas.

Pallbearers: Paul Roecker, Casey Roecker, Ryan Roecker, Jordan Parrack, Jason Roecker, Todd Edward, Tony Flores, and Nick Enghardt.
