Milda Linda De Leon

Milda Linda De Leon was called by our Lord on Dec. 7, 2020. She was born June 22, 1935 in Gonzales to Pablo and Gertrudes Sanchez. She is preceded in death by brothers, Pablo Sanchez and Jose Sanchez; sister Celia Helland and granddaughter Samantha Carol De Leon

She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church and supported many of the church’s activities. A loving, devoted mother and grandmother, she was always supportive of all their endeavors.

She enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, visiting casinos, was an avid sports fan and was always in a festive mood, especially during the holidays, of which Christmas was her favorite.

She was a gentle, but strong individual, with a strong work ethic as she worked by her husband’s side for over 31 years.

She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Belen R. DeLeon Jr; daughter and son in law, Yolanda A. and Miguel Canales; son and daughter in law, Steve B. and Margaret G. DeLeon; son, Rene DeLeon; grandchildren, Miguel A. Canales, Elizabeth R. DeLeon, Christopher B. DeLeon, Rebecca L. DeLeon and Steve B. DeLeon Jr.

She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 11 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Mike Canales, Steve DeLeon Jr., Christopher DeLeon, Jason Irle, Clint Irle, Sammy Martinez and Troy Church  Honorary pallbearer: Roland Martinez.

Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, church service and graveside burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
